MinnesotaNow’s Launch Gala will be a very high-caliber, glamorous event. While we’re continuing to write about how we will achieve our mission, we wanted to tell you about our amazing event at the end of June.
Before we tell you all about the event, we wanted to ensure people knew one thing: While the event is glamorous, it is important to know that the event is organized to be accessible and does not cut into donations. We’ve priced tickets so we break-even at only $15 for advanced purchases.

While you’ll have to attend to experience all the fun details and surprises, we’re going to tell you about the big pieces:
First of all, out of town guests, guests wishing to make a memorable evening of the gala, or guests wishing to participate in our 8:30 post-gala meeting in the AC Hotel Lounge may book through June 10 (that’s tomorrow!) to take advantage of our exclusive MinnesotaNow Deal at the AC Hotel.

Venue
We have a newly refurbished, beautiful space called the Fountain Room in the Lumber Exchange, downtown Minneapolis.
Red Carpet and Paparazzi Experience
While business casual is required for admission, attendees wearing formalwear or ‘unique or celebratory’ attire may strut down the red carpet to be photographed by a big group of photographers, whooping and generally making sure attendees know they’re a big deal, what we’re calling the “Paparazzi Experience.” Photos will be available for purchase online after the event.
Program
While the evening is jam-packed with entertainment, we managed to fit in several speakers for 15 minutes here and there to describe the relevant issues in Minnesota, and we will describe the way MinnesotaNow will enhance our state and culture to alleviate or solve those issues. We have speakers who are at the top of their industry and at the cutting edge of the topics relevant to Minnesota.
Entertainment
MinnesotaNow believes a key way to raise the bar on business events in the Cities is to intertwine a little entertainment with bigger events. For that reason, we are proud to announce that we have The Bearded Men performing at our gala. For those who don’t know, the Bearded Men have mastered long-form improv comedy. They’re back in Minnesota after their national tour, and I can’t be more amazed that we were able to book them!
The Bearded Men headline every Friday Night at HUGE Theater in Uptown. HUGE Theater is the only improv theater that showcases ‘long-form improv,’ which in regular terms means ‘not stand up, and they have plots and play more with the intellect.’
We also have professional dancer’s Paris Becker and Cody Arndtson performing throughout the night. They are professionals who give professional lessons at Dancer’s Studio.
We’re going to have a group toast at 10:00, and night owls are staying for a dance party at 10:30.
We have DJ Ruca spinning dance tunes until 1:00.
