MinnesotaNow is a new nonprofit that is definitely thinking outside the box.
There are other organizations trying to connect entrepreneurs with Fortune 500 companies. Others have a focus on technical and specific industries.
MinnesotaNow is includes all industries and all persons.
We’re different.
We will demystify venture capital investing. We’re going to educate the market about its ability to produce entrepreneurs. For people who don’t already have the business skills required for success, we will provide workshops and host educational events. Many people have a great, marketable idea but don’t have the seed capital, and one of our initiatives is matching these people with investors.
Our events will be different from typical big networking events.
To reach the masses, we need to raise the bar. MinnesotaNow events will make entrepreneurs into the next generation of celebrities. Our large events will have the pomp and glamour of Hollywood award ceremonies.
This is how we’re different. In order to make VC investing and entrepreneurial success better understood, we need to make them subjects of concern and conversation among more than just the entrepreneur elite.
In order to utilize the new equity crowdfunding portals in Minnesota, we need to make these options visible and available to more than just the select entrepreneurial few. To contribute funding, the crowd needs to know about the financing vehicle. Our goal is to demystify entrepreneurship and the high-risk assumptions given to it.
We will publish more detailing our grand events and other initiatives throughout May and June of 2017, leading up to our MinnesotaNow Launch Gala.
